The project consists of a three story residential building in the unique and historic neighborhood of Bogotá called El Bosque Izquierdo. Hilly, labyrinthine streets lined with eclectic, low buildings characterize this neighborhood. There are Colonial mansions next to houses dating to the 1950s as well as low-rise modern residential buildings all of which contribute to the Historic District.
e have developed a design that is responsive to the specific site conditions and zoning restraints, researching materials that will be cost efficient and environmentally sustainable. The building would be a prototype passive building for Bogota which will produce its own heat and energy while harvesting Bogota's abundant rainwater for both potable and grey water use.
