Pachano & Vollert is an architecture and design office based in New York City and Massachusetts. P&V specializes in creating spaces that become instruments for discovery with an approach which is simultaneously exploratory, technical, and responsive to each project’s needs and environment. Our process reveals what at first may not be apparent and exposes new possibilities. Pachano & Vollert’s work extends over a range of projects and scales including buildings, renovations, interiors, and furniture. Current projects include: anhistoric townhouse renovation and addition in the Upper West Side of Manhattan, an apartment renovation on Central Park West in Manhattan, two ground up residential houses in the mountains of the Berkshires, and the development of a property in Bogota, Colombia that includes the restoration of anhistoric house and an eight-story ground up residential building.
Amparo is co-founder of P&V and received a Master of Architecture from Columbia University's Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation,as well as a Bachelor of Arts from the Gallatin School of Individualized Study at NYU, where she graduated as an Honors Scholar. Her research and writing at NYU on the perception and experience of space continues to influence her work. In 1999, she worked for Ricardo Bofill Taller de Arquitectura in Barcelona and then established her own design studio in 2000, where she focused on residential work and art gallery design. She founded the architecture office with her partner and husband Pedro Rafael Pachano in 2007.
Pedro Rafael Pachano
Pedro is co-founder of P&V. He received a Master of Architecture from Columbia University's Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation,and a Bachelor of Arts in English from Florida State University as well as a Master of Fine Arts in Photography and Electronic Media from Georgia State University. He has designed and drawn for Acconci Studio, Eisenman Architects, Diller, Scofidio and Renfro as well as FXFowle Architects. In 2007 he founded an architecture office with his wife Amparo Vollert. Pedro has taught at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and sits on the Planning Board and Design Advisory Committee of Great Barrington, MA. Pedro is a licensed architect in New York, Massachusetts, Florida,and is NCARB Certified. He is also a Certified Passive House consultant.
Pachano & Vollert have almost 30 years of combined experience that ranges from working on the design of an energy efficient skyscraper in Manhattan, a museum for the city of Galicia in Spain, apartment renovations in New York City,to custom homes in the Berkshires. P&V have the expertise to conceive, design, document,and complete projects for a variety of programs and scales.

Throughout the process, we develop strategies to meet budgets and schedules, energy production/ conservation needs, financial goals,and long/short-term plans.
